That's all for now. Don't forget to come back for WIP Wednesday! -Emma
A few weeks ago, I tried yarn dyeing for the first time! It was really fun. I ended up dyeing some multi colored purple (not intended, but still pretty), bright orange, and neon green. Here are a few photos: Incase you didn't notice, the orange and purple yarn was used to make Mort the Bear! And the green yarn, along with some light grey yarn, was used to make a bunny using the same pattern as this bunny I finished recently: Hmmm.... He looks kind of odd shaped in this photo. Oh, well. I'll take more photos for the Etsy listing. His pattern isn't available yet, but it should come up soon (after I finish Mort's pattern)

Wow, those look amazing for your first shot! The purple one looks a little like my first dye job, and the orange and green look very even. Isn't it fun to create things from your own colors? That's part of what made my Earth Science Hat so much fun to knit. :)

Thank you for the compliment :) Yes, it is pretty satisfying to make something from your hand dyed yarn. The reason the orange and green are more even is because with the purple, I wound and drop one ball at a time, for about 7 times, so some of them stayed in the dye a little longer than others. With the green and orange, I wound all of the little balls in advance, and dropped them in one by one. Unfortunately, when dyeing the purple yarn, some if it got tangled, and I had to untangle it. Dark dye and no gloves resulted in purple fingers :( But, nothing that a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser can't fix :)

Hello!I'm Emma, a crocheter, knitter, yarn dyer, and the list goes on. I'm pretty much obsessed with anything yarn related (except arm knitting. I haven't tried that). Archives
